The UN adopted an expansive and ambitious set of seventeen development goals that aim to “end poverty in all its forms” by 2030; addressing a range of issues including armed conflict, climate change, and equality. Analysts estimate that achieving these goals could cost as much as $4.5T per year, with an estimated funding gap of about $2.5T per year that will need to be financed by private investment. It can also be challenging to align investor interests with needs on the ground, and to connect investors to the right set of partners for an opportunity.
