Sonen Capital is delighted to announce Carolyn Ezelino’s promotion to Managing Director and Head of Research. Carolyn will play a crucial role in helping drive the firm’s mission of achieving both financial returns and positive social and environmental impact. In addition, she will lead and mentor our team of research analysts while also helping develop investment themes and strategies that align with our client’s impact goals.
Carolyn brings over 15 years of experience in impact investing, with expertise working with diverse and emerging managers, focusing on key impact areas such as climate, education, agriculture, and health. Prior to joining Sonen Capital, Carolyn was Director of Strategy and Finance at RSF Social Finance, where she led integrated capital investments and helped spearhead a groundbreaking racial justice fund. Her diverse background also includes investment banking at Morgan Stanley, private equity at Abraaj Group, along with notable service in the U.S. Peace Corps.

Carolyn has a BA in International Studies from Duke University, an MBA from MIT Sloan, and is an alum of the Toigo Foundation Fellowship. In addition, Carolyn is a proud first-generation Colombian-American, a devoted mother, and a passionate dancer and surfer. Carolyn’s new role underscores the firm’s ongoing commitment and focus towards realizing Sonen’s strategic vision to become the trusted investment advisor of choice for asset owners seeking investment solutions to tackle the world’s most urgent challenges.
